As I was deciding what to design for this challenge, I could not recollect using Night of Navy on a past project.  I thought to myself, surely that could not be true. It was true however! My Night of Navy Classic Stampin' Pad and Cardstock was still sealed in its wrapping!  That is just crazy! August will be my first year anniversary with Stampin' Up! and before this challenge, I have not used Night of Navy! I am grateful for the opportunity to participate in these challenges and engage in projects that push the creative envelope!

A combination of Night of Navy, Whisper White, and Flirty Flamingo create the backdrop and focal image of this card.

Starting with two 5 1/2" X 4 1/4" pieces of Whisper White Cardstock, I stamped a stem with leaves and a floral image from the Banners for You Stamp Set in Night of Navy and Flirty Flamingo. Alternating 1" strips from the stamped panel was combined with 1/2" strips of Night of Navy to create the background.

The floral image was created with the Stylish Stems Framelits Dies.  Layering a few of die cut images from Flirty Flamingo, Night of Navy, and the Stamped Whisper White Cardstocks provided a clustered focal point in which the sentiment rests below. In addition to the layers of the floral image and the solid leaf, dimensionals provide even more dimension.

The Classic Label punch combined with the Thoughtful Banners Stamp Set provide the right size label to stamp the Happy Birthday message from the Special Reason Stamp Set, which was layered three high for some added dimension.

A second card was called for with so many remaining scraps in which a floral image from the Love & Affection Stamp Set was combined with alternating strips in varying sizes.

Which do you prefer?

The last photo above does not have the popped up embossed solid leaf from the Special Reason Bundle.  It was an after thought and was added to provide more balance to the solid leaf image helping it to stand out.  In addition, the color contrast is reflected more clearly in this photo, which did not involve the use of my new photo box!

Thank You for stopping by and I hope you give my card a try!
