Global Design Project 078/ Sketch Challenge

Oh So Succulent Bundle
Global Design Project 078

I am finally getting aroung to uploading this weeks Global Design Challenge.  I am blown away by the wonderful projects created this week!  You can check them out too by clicking on the image below.

I had so many ideas swarming through my head it was difficult to stick to one thing.  I compare it to looking through the images on Pinterest and having so many ideas bombard at once it becomes hard to just sit down and make something!  I did, however, do just that, sit down and put a project together to upload this week!

Intially, I was planning on a gradient blended background, but instead, desided to use Stampin' Up!'s Hearts Decorative Mask.

I blended the hearts using the Whisper White Stampin' Pad on Basic Gray Cardstock.  Next, I cut down the Gray panel and layered it on a piece of Whisper White Cardstock.

To create a transiton between those two layers, I used my Stampin' Trimmer to cut out a thin strip of Sweet Sugarplum dots from the Succulent Garden Designer Series Paper pack.

I then cut that entire panel down, popping it up and creating a white border with my Thick Whisper White Card Base.

Two Stitched Shaped Circles created the foundation for my focal image.  On the larger Circle, I stamped the Moroccan Nights medallion image in the Black Ombre Stampin' Pad.

Three layering images from the Oh So Succulent Stamp set where stamped in Perfect Plum, Rich Razzleberry, and Mint Macaron.

On top of each blossom I used the outline stamp again in Whisper White, using my fingers to smudge or blend the pigment over the flowers.  Two of the plants were adhered on top of the circles and dimensionals popped up the third.

The sentiment, again in Basic Gray, was die cut from the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits and layered three times for some extra dimension and adhered offset and below the succulents.

Without a good supply of ribbon or twine, I used the bow die in the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits set and cut two bows, using the Sweet Sugarplum dots DSP and Basic Gray, which I layered .  A little glossy accent helped give the bow a little extra interest.

Finally, I added a few clear sequins from the Metallics Sequin Assortment to finish the card.

  1. Valgerdur, so many lovely elements to this card. I am so glad you gave some instructions ... I was sitting here trying to work out how you gave your succulent flowers so much texture and dimension. And those hearts in the background are amazing! Love it. xx

  2. Thank you Cheryll for the sweet comments! If it helps, I did stamp the outline image multiple times in the colored dye ink and Whisper White pigmenthe ink, alternating the two and blending the pigment with my finger a bit, until I was happy with final image.
