Basket Punch Meets Lift Me Up!
I so enjoy Kylie Bertucci! I watch all or her uploaded chats and follow her regularly! I think she is brilliant, and I enjoy her upbeat, encouraging, and larger than life personality! I must also mention, this blog came about through one of her instructional trainings! I will definitely return to her trainings in the near future! Can you tell I am a fan!!! I am excited to be casing her today and I need to mention my love for the example above! It was this card that inspired a new order and this lovely stamp set joining my personal stamping stash. However, I did not use the Special Reason set for my project today.
Instead, I made a card using a couple of different bundles from the Occasions Catalog. An idea has been rolling around in my head for a few weeks and I decided to retrofit it to meet some of the elements in the example. I have been thinking Easter lately and paired the Basket Bunch Bundle with the Lift me up Bundle. I must say, when I get an idea, the imagined image rarely comes to fruition without a myriad of changes when finally on paper. This time, my idea mostly matches my final project!
My card took a little time to create but was so much fun to make! To paint a little imagery-- I wanted to have the Easter Bunny, in the Basket of Bunch Stamp Set, flying in the air on an Air Balloon from the Lift Me Up Stamp Set. As the Easter Bunny is flying through the air and dangling from the Balloon's Basket, he (I always imaged the Easter Bunny as male, sorta like Santa Claus) is dropping Easter Eggs, which mostly land in a basket that is nestled in the Spring grass below.
I started with Whisper White cardstock and blended a sky using a combination of Marina Mist and Soft Sky. I also used Pear Pizzazz to create the backdrop of sky meeting earth. Next, I made a stencil using the negative image of the grass die in the Basket Builder Framelits Dies and blended in a little Wild Wasabi and placed two additional die cut images of the grass in Pear Pizzazz Card Stock to border the bottom of my card. Then I nestled a basket cut from Soft Suede Cardstock in the grass and die cut a number of eggs in Whisper White, So Saffron, Bermuda Bay, Wisteria Wonder, Perfect Plum, Rose Red, and Flirty Flamingo. I used these same colors in the Air Balloon, card base, and borders creating balance and symmetry. Lastly, The Easter Bunny was die cut from watercolor paper and using an aqua painter was painted with Smoky Slate, Flirty Flamingo, and the bow in So Saffron.
The final touch, while the Easter Bunny is dropping eggs with one hand, he is managing to hold a banner in the other with a Happy Easter message to all. You know Easter Bunnys have a bit of magic and this Easter Bunny is managing to suspend from a balloon with no hands! Amazing:)
I hope you enjoyed my card as much as I did creating it!
