Here in Northern Colorado, winter has lost its cold and bitter sting.  Instead of a normal winter, it seems more like Spring! However, Spring is just around the corner.

With Spring on its way, I have notices a shift in projects coming from the papercrafting community. All may favorite social media sites are featuring a collection of softer pastels and all the colors that are associated with the Easter Season. I know that I have been pulling out my Subtles Classic Stampin' Pads and a few of my favorite 2015-2017 ink pads (I will sorely miss those colors) more and more these days!

Today, I will be showcasing my design for the color challenge.

I utilized 2nd generational stamping to show the softer side of the challenge colors. I chose to use the Penned and Painted stamp set, one of my favorites! I am such a floral girl! I also love to watercolor and so enjoy the loose look of the images in this set!

I then stamped over the base images with the next layered stamps to showcase the full intensity of Bermuda Bay and Peekaboo Peach in the floral clusters, adding Early Espresso to the center of each flower.

I covered the entire panel with a sheet of Vellum, lined up the outline stamp of the large floral image, and heat embossed in Copper, my free chose. I cut out a rectangle from the center of the vellum cardstock to frame the colored panel.

The sentiment was also stamped in VersaMark, heat embossed in copper on a Bermuda Bay fishtailed banner, and fixed the the bottom, right side of the card. I went back and forth with the embellishments I wanted to use and decided to use the butterflies shown.

On watercolor paper, I did a watercolor wash mixing Bermuda Bay and Peekaboo Peach. To speed up the drying process, I used my heat tool.  Once dry, I used the Timeless Tags Thinlit Die of the flying butterflies to cut out the soft small images. Once adhered to the card, I used my Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush to add a little glimmer and the Fine-Tip Glue Pen to add a little more interest to the butterflies. Lastly, I tied a small bow across the top of the card.

I hope you enjoyed my project and it provided a little glimpse of Spring for you wherever you are!
