Mother's Day Cards and the Special Reason Bundle

Welcome and Thanks a bunch for stopping by! Today, I have two cards that I designed for the upcoming Mother's Day celebration! My monthly Stampin' Class completed the first project for the special women in our lives.

How difficult it is to let go of a great Stampin' Up! seasonal stamp bundle! Also retiring from these projects is the Falling Petals Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and the Designer Series Paper Stacks used in the background.

Melon Mambo and Daffodil Delight are featured in the floral images on this card. 

Thick Whisper White Cardstock provides my folding card a building place for the black and white script from the Neutrals Designer Series Paper Stack and other layers. Then, a smaller panel, embossed with the Falling Petals Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, was adhered.  

Next, three layers were cut form the Layering Ovals Framelits including So Safron Designer Series Paper, Wild Wasabi, and Basic Black Cardstock, which provides a focal background for the two floral images. Instead of adhering the stem and leaves, the negative cutout offered an alternative.

The colored florals are topped with a black frame buiding on the balance and flow of this card. In addtion, Basic Black really allows the other colors in the blossoms to POP!

The sentiment comes from another retiring set from the Occasions catalog, Oh So Succulent. The sentiment was stamped in VersaFine Black and heat embossed with Clear Emboss Powder on Subtles Designer Series Paper and punched out with the Classic Label Punch. Instead of using dimensionals to pop up the sentiment, I layered two punched Classic Labels.

  

This second card was completed using many of the same products. Addional elements include the Swirly Scribbles Thinlits providing the wavy border, the Label die from the Large Numbers Framelits stamped with the border from the Number of Years Stamp Set, an additional sentiment from the Oh So Succulent Stamp Set, a few Nuvo white drops, and, of course, a second large Perfect Plum bloom.
